Harbor/UCLA Medical Center
Los Angeles County is building a new, state-of-the-art medical center to meet the needs of Southwest County residents with exceptional, equitable and compassionate care in an innovative and sustainably-built campus: UCLA. The new Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Redevelopment Program will consolidate medical services into new facilities and ensure Harbor-UCLA Medical Center complies with Senate Bill 1953, which requires all California hospitals to be structurally resilient in the event of a major earthquake (effective 2030). By consolidating inpatient and outpatient services into new buildings, the project will reduce operation and maintenance costs and provide outpatient facilities that accommodate planned patient visits.
Dakota Communications was retained by Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 2022 to manage outreach and communication efforts that serve to engage and inform local residents, businesses, and other audiences including campus patients, visitors, employees, contractors, and vendors about important project information and the benefits of the newly developed medical center. As part of their strategic outreach plan, Dakota communications coordinates the design and distribution of printed materials like fact sheets, FAQs, and brochures that outlined key project details; developed an accessible and intuitive website with the most up-to-date information about the Replacement Program; and facilitates meetings, briefings, and presentations among key stakeholders, community members, and local elected officials to maximize public awareness and support.
