First AME Church (FAME), the oldest black congregation in Los Angeles, has a rich history of community service that includes educational outreach, housing and homeowner assistance, and economic development. FAME engaged Dakota Communications to develop a comprehensive marketing, public relations, and media campaign to highlight church initiatives and maximize community and elected official support for the church. Dakota Communications met and exceeded FAME's exposure through press events, opinion editorials, letters to the editor, radio and television interviews and advertisements, brochure and newsletter development, and outdoor advertisement. In addition to ongoing outreach for FAME, Dakota Communications generated national and local news coverage during the tenth and fifteenth anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots.
