Dakota Communications developed and implemented the 2002 campaign to approve Measure B, which sought to save trauma centers and emergency medical services in LA County.  Measure B, which included an increase in property taxes, was required to pass in order to avoid a shutdown of L.A. County’s trauma network.  However, voters had not approved a property tax increase in 25 years.  Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky enlisted Dakota Communications to run what most considered an impossible campaign. Dakota Communications’ successful campaign resulted in 73% of voter approval.  Supervisor Yaroslavsky called it “a stunning victory.”
